Today I went to the Creators Project in DUMBO, Brooklyn, an arts and technology festival. It was full of arty and fun projects and a bunch of great bands and DJ’s were there including Florence and the Machine. Not sure I’m going back to see Florence though I think she’s a great singer but I did happen upon a group called Chairlift which was pretty awesome in its own right.
Here are the pix from today’s outing. Of course, I couldn’t resist taking pix of the beautiful people attending. Enjoy:
- A member of blackberry nation….
- New Frank Gehry looms over the Brooklyn Bridge…
- Looking at exhibit reflected in his glasses…
- Arch stage where bands set up…
- Caroline Polacheck, lead singer of Chairlift
- I’m looking a bit flushed…
- He was wailin’ ’bout somethin’
- Bending backwards for exhibit…

Nice photos…looks like a fun time. Seems from your photos, that most of the lovely young ladies decided to dress in black, unless, of course, ’twas a black attire affair. Caroline Polachek, the lead singer of Chairlift seems to be a very interesting young woman, with a certain charm about her. She has quite a presence in their video “Bruises.” Chairlift’s video “Evident Utensil” is a wild show of color, reminiscent of the old Pig Light show at the Filmore East, which incidentally, was revived recently in CT. Thanks for sharing.
robbie, you’ve been out of nyc too long. all women wear black all the time here now. as for caroline p., she was quite charming and a great dancer but that was tough to capture in stills….
Last time I visited the city was in da summer and the ladies were mostly scantily clad and I didn’t notice any black outfits. I did notice, however…never mind…me thoughts are better left to remain in me wee little brain. Reminds of the wise words of Hippocrates “Men ought to know that from nothing else but the brain come joys, delights, laughter and sports, and sorrows, griefs, despondency, and lamentations.”
As for CP and Chairlift, check out the videos on youtube.
