New Orleans — every bit as cool as NYC….

I spent the last couple of days in New Orleans and came away with the same feeling I do every time I visit — it is one cool city!

And it also reminds me of NYC in this way — you never know what you’re going to see walking down the street, especially in the French quarter where I spent most of my time. The weather was terrific this past weekend the street performers were out in all their glory. But so were wedding parties and marching bands and all types of people celebrating something. At one point, I had to abandon my car in a parking lot because the exit was blocked by partygoers (or second line) celebrating the life of Ron Zappe, inventor of Zapp’s Potato Chips. Great city and of course I took a few photos while I was there. Enjoy:

Now I KNOW I have to make a trip there sometime! Your photos make it appear to be a “must do,” Paul!

Nice pictures, Paul. I was there in the spring of 2004. Took my brother Dennis’s ashes there and honored his wishes with a New Orleans Funeral, complete with Marching band. It was quite an experience and we spent another day at a musical festival.
